Update my Yahoo Xtra password in my Email Application

Once you've changed your password you will need to update the password on your email on PC, Mobile or Tablet before you send and receive emails.

Email Application

Check the icon you click on to open it. The name should be displayed there. If your email application is not listed below, information should be available on its' website.

  1. Open Outlook 2013
  2. Click File
  3. Click Account Settings
  4. Click Account Settings again
  5. Highlight your email account
  6. Click Change
  7. Update Password field with your new password
  8. Click OK , Next and Finish

  4. Highlight your email account
  5. Click Properties
  6. Select Servers tab
  7. Update Password field with your new password

  2. Click on the Windows Live Mail drop down (on the left of the Home tab)
  3. Select Options
  4. Click Email Accounts
  5. Highlight your email account
  6. Click Properties   
  7. Select Servers tab
  8. Update Password field with your new password
  9. Click OK
  10. Click Close

    1. Open Mail
    2. Select Mail menu
    3. Select Preferences
    4. Select your email account on the left hand side under the Account heading
    5. Under Incoming Mail server, update Password field with your new password
    6. Click on dropdown box next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
    7. Click Edit SMTP Server List...
    8. In the list at the top, ensure that the server name "send.xtra.co.nz" is highlighted. If not showing, click the + button on the left side.
    9. Click on "Advanced"
    10. Update Password field with your new password
    11. Click Ok
    12. Close the Accounts window to Save your settings

  1. Open Entourage
  2. Click Tools
  3. Select Accounts
  4. Click Mail tab,
  5. Highlight your email account
  6. Click Edit
  7. Under Receiving mail:
  8. Update Password field with your new password
  9. Click Ok to save your changes
Image Thunderbird
  1. Open Thunderbird
  2. Update the password field with your new password in the pop up box
  3. Click Ok
  4. Click Tools
  5. Select Account Settings
  6. Select Server settings under your email account
  7. Click Edit
  8. Update the Password Field with your new password
  9. Click Ok x 2
