How do I setup a third-party Email Account in Outlook?

To set up a non-xtra email address in your email client such as Outlook or Mac Mail using Spark's Outgoing Server (send.xtra.co.nz), you will need to first verify the email address with your xtra email address.  If this is not done, you will receive error code 553 or 550 while trying to send messages.

See How to verify your non-xtra email address .

You will also need the following:

  • the Username and Password for the email you are setting up
  • the Incoming Server Name (e.g. pop3.yourisp.co.nz)
  • any other settings such as SSL or Port Numbers (Check either with your email provider or on their website)

These instructions will only work on a Spark Broadband or Dial-up connection.
